Mike Gutierrez is an attorney in the Philadelphia office. His practice focuses on helping employers of all sizes to protect their trade secrets and confidential information, particularly when their employees leave to join a competitor. His experience in these matters spans multiple jurisdictions throughout the country and encompasses civil litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. He has worked on matters for clients in a wide variety of industries, ranging from finance and banking to life sciences and engineering.

Drawing on this experience, Mike also helps employers draft their employment contracts and employee handbooks, ensuring that they are comprehensive in their protection, as well as enforceable in the courts.

In law school, Mike interned for the City of Philadelphia Law Department, where he was responsible for finalizing the City’s software and technology licensing agreements. He also represented his school at the inaugural Intellectual Property Lawyering Meet, a national competition for drafting and negotiating intellectual property agreements. He won the award for drafting the best publisher agreement and finished second place in the live negotiation rounds.
