Michael N. Peterson

Michael N. Peterson is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance practice and a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Securities Practices. Mr. Peterson serves as the primary outside counselor in the majority of his relationships, many of which have spanned more than 15 years. The focus of his private equity practice is managing complex acquisition and disposition strategies for funds, the creation of funds, and the general representation of portfolio companies. His public and private company representations include advising clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, obligations under and compliance with the securities laws, corporate governance, defensive preparedness, joint ventures, and general corporate law. Mr. Peterson also represents foreign and domestic clients in a variety of cross-border mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

Mr. Peterson has particular experience working with clients in the life sciences, manufacturing, software, technology, water and waste water, trucking, printing, communication, and financial and professional services.

In addition to his client representations, Mr. Peterson is the leader of the firm’s Philadelphia Business and Finance Practice.

From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Peterson competed both nationally and internationally as a member of the United States Olympic Rowing Team.

Mr. Peterson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
