Michael focuses his practice on all aspects of management-side defense of labor and employment law matters. He has particular expertise in traditional labor law before the National Labor Relations Board and federal courts. Michael has extensive experience in preventative labor relations, and advising employers during union organizing campaigns. He also has substantial experience in FLSA matters, with particular emphasis devoted to defending class-action matters.

Michael has successfully represented employers in numerous union organizing campaigns in a wide range of industries that includes hospitals, energy, security, automotive, auto dealerships, warehousing, service, mailing, manufacturing, transportation, high-tech, health care, and cable and telecommunications. In addition, he has worked on more than 1,000 unfair labor practice investigations. Michael has successfully tried dozens of unfair labor practice cases, including successfully defending employers against government efforts seeking injunctive relief in federal court.

Michael has successfully litigated labor matters in federal court including vacating arbitration awards, complex and class action wage-hour matters, pension collection cases, and injunctions against picketing in Section 301 cases. Michael also focuses his litigation expertise on ERISA, Railway Labor Act and unfair competition cases.

Michael has previously served as an adjunct professor of law at Stetson University and Florida A&M, teaching courses on labor law, employment law, and practice and procedure before the National Labor Relations Board.
