Nina G. Stillman

Nina G. Stillman concentrates her practice on employment and occupational safety and health law matters, representing corporations and institutions in large employment class actions and single plaintiff lawsuits, agency investigations, restrictive covenants litigation and health and safety-related cases. Ms. Stillman counsels employers nationwide on cross-border workplace issues and counsels international clients on U.S. employment and workplace health and safety law. She has handled some of the country's seminal cases on both the employment and OSHA sides of her practice. In addition to defending clients in employment and safety and health law matters, Ms. Stillman extensively counsels clients in these practice areas, partnering with her clients to maximize litigation avoidance techniques.

Ms. Stillman is a highly experienced trial attorney, having tried jury and bench trials involving issues of race, gender, religion, age and disability discrimination, sex harassment, wrongful discharge, workplace torts such as defamation, tortious interference and intentional infliction of emotional distress, workplace repetitive strain injuries and occupational reproductive hazards. She has defended clients in employment litigation throughout the country and is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Eight and Eleventh Circuits; and the U.S. Districts Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois, District of Nebraska, District of Colorado, Eastern District of Texas, Western District of Wisconsin, Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the District of North Dakota.

Ms. Stillman is recognized as one of the preeminent OSHA lawyers in the country, representing clients in federal OSHA and state plan inspections and contests throughout the U.S. She performs incident investigations and privileged audits, has deep experience in crisis management arising from workplace fatalities, explosions and fires and regularly counsels and performs training for clients in workplace safety and health issues. She has worked extensively on issues involving the overlap of employment and safety and health issues such as developing employer responses to epidemics and pandemics and effectively addressing the balancing between the requirements of our disability discrimination laws and the obligation to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
