Thomas R. Jackson

Tom Jackson focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation in the securities, intellectual property, and antitrust areas. He advises clients on claims of monopolization, distribution practices, takeovers, mergers, section 10(b) lawsuits, derivative actions, intellectual property disputes, and governmental investigations. Tom also represents clients in a variety of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, director and officer liability, and prudency issues involving the activities of regulated utilities.

Tom has represented the Special Committee to the Board of Directors of Moneygram, Inc. in connection with a restructuring transaction involving a controlling shareholder; Homeward Residential in litigation relating to the mortgage servicing industry; and Texas Instruments in several intellectual property, licensing, and contract actions. He also has represented The MathWorks in a successful jury trial in the Eastern District of Texas involving claims of copyright infringement.

Tom belongs to the American Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association. He is currently serving as chair of the Antitrust and Business Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a former chair and current council member for the Dallas Bar Antitrust Section. He serves as the partner responsible for Jones Day's litigation support services firmwide.
