Thomas R. Stasi

Tom is an associate in the firm's Business & Finance group. He assists both private and public companies with a variety of corporate transactions, including M&A and offerings of securities. He also counsels start-up companies through all stages of business development, including formation, seed funding, venture capital and exit transactions.

Civically, Tom serves as an advisor and mentor to numerous entrepreneurial programs - The Brandery, OCEAN Accelerator, Desai Accelerator and TechArb Student Venture Accelerator. He serves on the Board of Directors of Intermitten, an annual conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan designed to showcase the intersection of creativity and technology. He is also a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and venture capital related matters throughout the region.

Tom received his bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in markets and management and political science from Duke University. In 2012, he graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. During law school, he served as a student attorney for the University of Michigan Entrepreneurial Legal Clinic, where he counseled early-stage, high-growth businesses. He is a member of the University of Michigan Law School alumni student mentoring program. Tom also has experience in business consulting, as he helped university spinoffs from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business receive venture capital and seed funding. Tom also interned for Chief Judge Jennifer B. Coffman on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He was an editor for the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform and authored a Note for the volume 45 edition titled "Reform that Understands Our Seniors: How Interdisciplinary Services Can Help Solve the Capacity Riddle in Elder Law."
