Thomas W. Brooke

Thomas W. Brooke litigates and counsels clients on intellectual property and related issues. He has appeared in federal court all over the United States and managed litigation for clients in every major country. Mr. Brooke handles matters involving trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent litigation, U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright protection and drafts license and technology transfer agreements. He regularly files and prosecutes new U.S. and international trademark applications and maintains and monitors registrations in the U.S. and around the world. While serving as the chair of the International Trademark Association's U.S. Legislation Committee, Mr. Brooke helped craft the Federal Anti-Cyber Piracy Act and the Federal Trademark Dilution statute. He is a member of the firm's task force on electronic discovery.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Brooke worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., as a legislative assistant to Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Rep. Frank R. Wolf of Virginia.

Mr. Brooke frequently speaks at legal education seminars sponsored by groups such as the International Trademark Association, the American Bar Association's Section of Intellectual Property Law, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the D.C. Bar, the Intellectual Property Law Institute of Canada and the Law Education Institute, on topics ranging from U.S. trademark legislation, trade dress law, copyright law, litigation strategy, international trademark protection and legal ethics.
