Practice & Background

Mr. Teslik handles jury trials and represents corporations and individuals in complex civil and criminal litigation and in arbitrations. He also counsels businesses and individuals with respect to business disputes, reputational recovery and other matters. In domestic litigation, Mr. Teslik focuses on defending businesses against multiplaintiff, class and collective actions involving wide-ranging claims, including breach of contract, fraud, unfair business practices, product liability, employment discrimination, wage-and-hour violations and business torts. He defends individual and corporate clients subject to grand jury and other criminal investigations. He has appeared in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country representing major corporations and individuals in matters of this nature. He has tried more than 60 jury trials.

Before joining Akin Gump, Mr. Teslik was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia, where he prosecuted major felony and fraud cases and represented the United States in criminal and civil appeals. He served as chief of the Grand Jury Section for four years, where he supervised and conducted hundreds of complex investigations involving fraud, public corruption and violent crimes.

Mr. Teslik has lectured on trial practice and civil and criminal procedure topics to law school, government and continuing legal education groups.
