Walter E. Steimel Jr

Walt Steimel focuses his practice on domestic and international communications; information technology and related high technology issues; privacy and data security; export control; intellectual property; trade secret; digital device and radiofrequency regulation; and consumer protection, advertising and fair trade practices. His scope of practice includes administrative law, counseling, transactional support and litigation in these areas. His practice includes streamlining contract negotiation and administration; advising clients on government compliance issues; defending clients in government investigations; and litigating to protect the intellectual property and other business interests of clients.

He represents clients before the Federal Communications Commission; Federal Trade Commission; U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; Food and Drug Administration and CDRH; Department of Commerce (particularly BIS); Customs Service, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, state and federal courts, and various state regulatory agencies. He has represented clients in numerous appeals of federal agency actions.

Mr. Steimel is a frequent lecturer and writer on various legal topics within his specialties, and on the operation of and participation in the United States political system. He is also a guest lecturer at Texas Christian University on legal and political participation topics.
