Ziv Shafir represents technology and healthcare companies in their entire lifecycle of development, with a focus on start-ups and emerging companies. His practice sits at the intersection of science, business, and law, encompassing a wide range of intellectual property, corporate, and regulatory matters.
Ziv simultaneously obtained a J.D. and M.B.A. degree from Stanford. Prior to this, Ziv worked at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as both a medical device reviewer and a policy analyst on strategic initiatives at the agency.
During his time at Stanford, Ziv helped lead a class at the Stanford Graduate School of Business on "Translational Medicine" alongside former Intel CEO Andy Grove and Stanford professor Robert Burgelman. He also worked at companies and funds such as Intuitive Surgical, OrbiMed, and HealthTech Capital.
Most recently, for the past two years Ziv has helped lead a class at the Stanford Graduate School of Business entitled "Leading Strategic Change in Healthcare" alongside Dr. Robert Pearl, CEO of The Permanente Medical Group, and Professor Robert Burgelman. Ziv continues to help teach the course, as well as conduct research into intellectual property trends with Professor Mark Lemley of Stanford Law School.
