Aron Potash

Aron Potash is an associate in the Environment, Land & Resources Department of Latham & Watkins' Los Angeles office, where he has practiced since 2007. His environmental law experience includes the handling of regulatory, litigation and transactional matters.

Mr. Potash represents businesses, including many in the petrochemical, energy, cleantech and manufacturing sectors, as well as municipalities on regulatory matters and in litigation. He has handled matters arising under the Clean Air Act and regional air quality regulations as well as the California Environmental Quality Act. Mr. Potash has represented clients before the South Coast Air Quality Management District and has broad experience dealing with permitting matters, variances and the defense of enforcement actions such as orders for abatement. His practice also involves counseling clients with regard to compliance with state and federal environmental laws. Mr. Potash has advised clients on climate change legislation, assisting in the representation of a coalition of businesses in the aerospace, automotive, electric power generation and petrochemical sectors on the implementation of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) and the Western Climate Initiative.

Active in pro bono matters, Mr. Potash has assisted a non-profit provider of health programs in negotiating with a local government over the use of public parkland and a non-profit theater organization in complying with state non-profit regulations, among other matters.

During law school, Mr. Potash participated in the Environmental Law Clinic, where he worked on water rights and sanitation matters, served as Lead Articles Editor of the Texas Environmental Law Journal and served as President of the Environmental Law Society. While earning his undergraduate degree, Mr. Potash worked for a utility operator on renewable energy projects.
