Robert H. Smith is a partner in Holland & Knight's Miami office. He is a real property lawyer whose practice encompasses most facets of real estate, including commercial office, industrial and retail leases; purchase and sale transactions; acquisition, construction, and permanent financing transactions; and workouts and restructuring of problem loans. His practice often entails the coordination of teams of Holland & Knight attorneys with diverse experience, including land use, business law, federal and state taxation and litigation, in connection with complex real estate transactions.
Mr. Smith lectures in the area of commercial leasing and serves as an adjunct professor in the LL.M. Real Estate Program at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching commercial leasing. He is also the author, most recently, of a chapter titled "How Green Leasing Will Come to Pass - And What It Will Look Like," in Green Building and Sustainable Development: The Legal Guide, published by the American Bar Association in the fall of 2008.
